One Powerful Voice
Georgia Military Officers Association OF AMERICA
State President’s Welcome Letter
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Georgia Military Officers Association of America (GMOAA) Website. The GMOAA is the oldest state association/council of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). As of January 2010, our association numbers 17 autonomous chapters located around the state from the mountains in the north to the Atlantic coastal shore in the southeast. This website provides information related to our state organization and the state chapters. Additionally, it provides links to important organizations and topics of interest. One of the chief functions of our association and the website is to provide information on how to become affiliated with MOAA and one of our chapters that would be near you. MOAA and GMOAA represent one powerful voice in the effort to obtain and secure earned military benefits for all present and past military members and their families.
Our local chapters are also involved in many activities to foster support for the military and to facilitate relationships between the services and the civilian communities in Georgia. These activities include projects like, supporting Junior ROTC and ROTC units with medals and scholarships, supporting our troops who are deployed in the war against terrorism and to remember our veterans from past conflicts and engage in programs to recognize and appreciate their service.
In addition to supporting our current chapters we are interested in starting new chapters, wherever there is interest. If you are an active duty, National Guard, reserve, retired, or former military officer who is already a personal member of MOAA, or not, and are interested in becoming actively involved and associating with fellow military officers in striving to maintain and improve the benefits to which you are entitled as a serving or formerly serving service person and serving your local communities and reside in an area not currently served by one of our chapters and would like to start a new chapter, please contact me. Again, thank you for visiting the GMOAA Website. We have tried to make it user friendly and include all the information you need to join us. We welcome any suggestions or ideas you have on ways to improve the website. Please visit us again soon.
Sincerely,
Alton Johnson
