Who We Are & What We Do

Established in August 2005, the South Georgia Military Officers Association (SGAMOAA) is an independent, politically non-partisan, non-profit corporation affiliated with the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).  Membership is open to all those who hold or have ever held a warrant or commission in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or NOAA and their surviving spouses.(click here for our officers and directors)

Our South Georgia Military Officers Association fosters and stimulates love of country and the flag; Supports fraternal relations between all branches of the various Services; defends the honor, integrity and supremacy of our national government and the Constitution of the United States; advocates military forces adequate to the defense of our country; aids active and retired personnel of the various Services; their dependents and survivors, in every proper and legitimate manner.

We meet the second Thursday of every month at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center in Valdosta, Georgia, 6:00pm.  Spouses are a valuable component of our chapter and are included in all of our activities.

Our service projects include providing phone cards for deployed military personnel, awarding ROTC/JROTC cadets and midshipmen who have demonstrated exceptional potential for military leadership, and sponsoring Honor Flight South Georgia, a program designed to take all World War II veterans in the area to Washington, DC to view the National WW II Memorial.
